A Score for Predicting Freedom from Progression of Children and Adolescents with Hodgkin Lymphoma

چکیده
Several studies have examined the prognostic performance of therapeutic groups (TG) and early responses to therapy on positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) in children adolescents with classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL); less research has been performed molecular parameters at diagnosis. The aim present study was devise a scoring system based TG criteria for predicting freedom from progression (FFP) 133 patients: 63.2% males; 14 years median age (interquartile range (IQR) 11.9–15.1); cHL (108 nodular sclerosis (NS) subtype) treated according AIEOP LH-2004 protocol; 5.55 (IQR 4.09–7.93) follow-up. CHL progressed or relapsed 37 patients (27.8%), FFP 0.89 = 0.59–1.54), (10.5%) died. FPR (final rank) model associates biological HLA-G SNP 3027C/A (numerical point assigned (pt) 1) absolute neutrophil count (>8 × 109/L, pt 2) as variables (TG3, 3). Results score analyses suggested that (Kaplan–Meier curves, log-rank test trends) better than model. At diagnosis, high-risk classified rank 4 5 identified 18/22 who relapse during

correlation of genetic VT risk with the plasma levels of the fibrinogen variant suggests that FGG-H2 and -H3 haplotypes modify thrombosis risk by controlling the level of this FGG splice isoform. In response to our manuscript, Cheung and coworkers note that elevated fibrinogen ratios are associated with cardiovascular diseases and acute phase reaction but not with clinical outcome. This is an i...

Background and Objectives: Classic Hodgkin lymphoma (CHL), anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) and some cases of diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) have overlapping morphologic features. Since they all represent distinct clinico-pathologic entities, we explored the differential diagnostic impact of immunophenotyping to discriminate between them. Materials and Methods:...
متن کاملTreatment of Newly Diagnosed and Relapsed Hodgkin Lymphoma in Children
Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) accounts for about 10% of all childhood cancers. Five-year survival rates with modern therapies are now approaching >90-95% as a consequence of its significant sensitivity to both chemotherapy and radiation. The current challenge is to determine how much therapy is needed to improve survival and how to adapt treatment to the patient to prevent these long term toxicities. T...

Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) is a highly curable form of childhood cancer, with estimated 5 year survival rates exceeding 98%. However, the establishment of a "standard of care" approach to its management is complicated by the recognition that long-term overall survival declines in part from delayed effects of therapy and that there continue to be subgroups of patients at risk for relapse for which pr...
